Our vision is to see the Gospel transform everything – ourselves as individuals, our church, our city, and the world.
By 2020, we desire to see that vision expressed in our church as a body of thousands of people, gathering in locations throughout the Louisville area, and planting churches all over the world that draw many more un-churched people into a relationship with God.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”
—Revelation 21:5
When I came to Sojourn, I was really hurting on the inside. I was burned out on doing church, but I somehow thought that Christianity should be easy, casual and comfortable. In community group with the Plummers and now the Kullmans, we’ve discovered a people who know how to suffer with eyes on the cross. Through Sojourn Music, I’ve learned a new language for crying out in both pain and faith to the Lord–the language of lament. Sojourn has been a place where I’ve learned how to fall apart. I have brothers to whom I can confess both sin and doubt. Suffering hasn’t stopped, but we have learned to trust God in the midst of our pain.
Within the last few months, our daughter Lucy has been diagnosed with Autism. Loving and leading our children with an eye on Christ’s cross is difficult. But there is joy in the midst of fear and pain. I’m seeing with new eyes what it means to seek gospel change for my family and my kids. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23
